My Yoga Philosophy
"Practicing yoga is like holding hands with a close friend as You walk the path of life & eventually coming home to Yourself after a long journey."
The word yoga is sanskrit & means "to unite". This is exactly what it does. It unites the physical body with the subtle body - your inner world, energy body & mind. But it unites more than this. It creates a sense of belonging & connects people of all kinds of ethnicities, backgrounds, identities, abilities & personalities. It connects individuals with the greater whole - with other people, animals & nature. And it builds on values such as trust, openness, gratitude, compassion, acceptance & mindful awareness.
Yoga creates space for growth & living life to its fullest. It allows you to feel, explore & connect with your body. It can increase your mobility, train your attention, strengthen your muscles & offer recovery & rest, to mention just a few of its many benefits. Yet, it does so much more than the initially obvious. It peels off the outer layers - the surface - & reveals your core - your True Self. This is where your intuition, your gut feeling & your innate wisdom resides - You in your purest form. Yoga sets aside your ego, holding space for your soul. It enhances the image of yourself, increases your self-esteem & builds you up from the inside, if you allow it. Gradually, yoga enables you to be one with yourself and the world around you.
Yoga is a holistic life philosophy that aims to create balance & self-awareness. It serves as an anchor, a safe place to return home to. And it creates freedom - in body, mind & soul.
